Four steps before any drill head turns
Trenchless construction lives or dies on what happens before the bore. Our process is the same on a rural road allowance as it is beside a transmission watermain.
Ontario One Call locates requested, tracked and validated on our own Locate Tracker platform — live status for every segment of every permit, with records kept on site.
Hydrovac daylighting of every crossing utility on the bore path — gas, hydro, watermain, sewer, communications — before equipment is positioned.
Once a service is located, it is exposed by hand or vacuum only. Excavating equipment is never used to find a utility — a written rule in our program.
Drill profiles engineered around what was proven in the ground, tracked live, with a documented pre-drill inspection on the rig before every shift.
Paperwork that actually gets filled out
A safety program only counts if it shows up on site. Ours produces a documented trail on every crew, every day — filed by permit on our project system.
A JSA completed by every crew, every working day, reviewing the specific hazards of that day’s segment — filed by permit and date.
Documented equipment inspection sheets before drilling or plowing starts — rig, tooling, guarding, fluid systems.
Recurring documented inspections of active job sites, the yard and the office — findings tracked to corrective action.
Toolbox and H&S meetings with signed attendance records, plus a standing “REPORT NOW” rule: every incident, near miss or utility contact reported immediately, no exceptions.
A 20-section program, reviewed annually
Apex Fibre maintains a written Health & Safety Policy and Program — updated March 2026, signed by a senior officer, and reviewed at least annually. It covers everything from hazard identification and emergency response to progressive discipline, and it travels with our crews: available at onboarding, site orientations, and on every project.
